Surprisingly good, less water content than expected, 8-12 inches with the heavy stuff on the bottom
With the site rebuild, which has sucked up all of my limited free time, I didn't have a chance to get this ride report up. So here it is, the Thanksgiving Poach.
Having grown up on a farm, I know the importance of making hay while the sun shines and being a lifetime east coast rider, I definitely know the importance of making turns when the snow flies. Getting a 2000 vert skin in before gorging on turkey and liquid fat isn't such a bad thing either.
I told my wife that I would be back by 8 am. Of course I made this prediction based upon mid winter shape. Apparently playing wiffle and drinking High Life all summer does not leave a man in skinning condition.
At the top some skiers were discussing which route to take. I interjected, "I was thinking the same, I have definitely lost some base hitting rocks on Chute early season." They barely acknowledged my existence, typical MRG, and then took some blue square. Of course I dropped into the Chute, suckers.
Miraculously, I did not lose any base. However, the lack of fill created some sweet East Coast pillow lines. After riding the Solid in NH for two days, it was nice to get on the Venture and power through the heavy pow.
Having chewed up all the powder, I headed out to chew up all the turkey. Within two days, all the snow would be gone and it would be 60F in VT. Gotta get those days when they come in this climate.
