Corduroy, Chunder, Pow, no complaints
Road trip for a friends bday just to get outta SLC for a little bit. Grand Targhee made us an offer we couldn't refuse (stay 3 nights and lift tix are free) so the destination was set. We also managed to squeeze in a day at Jackson in between. I need to get back there for an extended visit.
Highlights:
Sneaky pow finds at Targhee
Gully runs so I could pretend to be Terje riding the LBS
The Hobacks at JH
Overshooting a rainbow log in The Stash and nearly exploding both knees
Smoked chicken wings at The Knotty Pine in Victor, ID
Sam nearly tearing his asshole open on some rocks after landing a drop and finding the only place at Targhee that was low tide.
Sam with a drop to pow slasher
I left the rainbow at the apex, landed flat. Already-damaged ACL wasn't happy about that.
Mini-dropper at Targhee, saving the knees. Kook-arm special.
Heading home. Solitude is supposed to get a foot tonight, stoked!
Typical spring conditions. An hour earlier would have made for a better descent with the surprise crusty patches
Dark, Powdery! Last night we probably got 3-4" from 6-9. Night pow slashes are so fun.
A mix of conditions, some good turns and some wind affected crust, all in perfect light though.

Weather was warm & sunny, snow conditions were sketchy.
It wasn't about the conditions, just about getting out and about
Low tide. Still. Lacking in snow but we made it work
