Oh Mount Sima!
It is a nice little resort in the Yukon. There are a whopping three lifts. One old two seater Riblet, which takes you to the top of the mountain(in 15 minutes). A beginners rope tow, and a t-bar which never runs(at least everytime I am there).
This is the resort I can reach with only a car, well as long as the mountain pass is open. The other resort that is close is Eaglecrest in Juneau, but to get there I would have to fly to Juneau and take a cab to the hill or I bring the car on the ferry. Either way you go you most likely have to stay the night. Once you add up a ferry ride or plane ticket with a hotel room, food and mountain ticket, it becomes an expensive trip.
It takes about two hours from Skagway to Whitehorse, and those aren't the friendliest roads(one night on our way back we were attacked by a gigantic looking badger monster, which tried to bite our tires). Plus there is an one hour difference in time, so if you want to be at the mountain at 9 a.m. you have to leave your house at 6 a.m.. But that is the price you pay to live in the most beautiful state of the nation. Here wild is still wild!
We didn't make it there at 9 but we got there at the crack of 11 and rode until 2:30, which really hurt. We didn't want to leave but we had some appointments to keep. Also when you come to Whitehorse you stock up on supplies. Because our grocery store sucks.
I also have to apologize for the video. It was my first time following somebody and everytime I looked where I was going I moved the camera to much and lost Kristin. So hopefully I will get better following people because thats where all the fun stuff happens.

Wind swept up high with nice powder below.

Good thing we decided to go! We partied a little to much the night before and Robert was still had a jet leg. Needless to say the motivation was low in the mourning and after hearing that the Road crew is trying out their new howitzer gun for avi control and the road possibly being closed we...

POW

I been waiting for a day like yesterday. Last weekend I went to Juneau to ride their resort and I had the worst time. Spend a lot of money traveling there for bullet proof snow. The bad vibes continued throughout the week. Yesterday changed all that. I didn't expect much since I was burned...

Choppy Pow

Ohh, back in Utah. The old stomping grounds. It always feels good to come back to this part of the World. Like every year my wife, Kristin, and I go down to SLC for the Outdoor Retailer show. We always add on some days to be able to ride the best snow on earth. This year it was a little scary...

20" of fresh POW

Had a late start and weather wasn't the best. 25-30mph winds with 50mph gusts but the snow was good. The night before we got 20" on top so there was no backing out. Driving through 2' wind drifts and parts of the Pass with 0 visibility we made it to a small zone that is an easy access from the...

Hip deep blower pow!

We had a late start in the mourning. We are just a little rusty getting all the gear together. We drove up the Highway and assest the situation. Snow cover looked good so we stopped at a zone called Fraiser Meadows. For a warm up we had to dig out our parking spot.
