Fresh powslush - closing day but with a dump of 10-15cm's 2 nights before.
Closing day at Mount Hutt and a fitting end to my trip home. I think they still had enough snow to stay open for a few more weekends, but sadly the economics of it don't make that possible.
Good times in the sun with good friends. Highlights:
-Slushy sidehits galore
-Teaching teenagers some 'old school' tricks
-A game of safety bar chicken
-Stalefish to method to alley-oop in one of the roughest halfpipes you've ever seen
-Some random dude bombing the groomers stark naked
There are no tree runs, no fancy base lodge facilities, no 'world class' terrain park and the weather is inconsistent as f*ck. But who cares? It's snowboarding, and that day I didn't want to be anywhere else.

Typical spring conditions. An hour earlier would have made for a better descent with the surprise crusty patches
Bailed out of work at 4:25 and was hiking by 5:45. A quick mission up to a favourite low-angle spot to get some exercise and get away from it all for a little while. Thanks to Mogul Mike for showing me this spot. I'm keen to get further back into the canyon and have a look around.
