Conditions were icy and the edges were catching on every rut.
After a six day hiatus from the snow (had to work), I jumped back on the saddle. The conditions were greybird with periodic snows to it bucketing down.
I started my short day by cruising down to the Stone (Tombstone Lift), on the way down there is this little jump carved off to the side and back into the run which allowed me to try a b/s 180 nose grab. Landing this felt good, it was a bit of an ego boost. As I was riding up the lift, I began to feel like hell (stomach and headache kicked in big time)... something had began to work its wonders on me-and I was on an eight minute lift to the top of a peak.
Upon reaching the top of Tombstone, not feeling any better, I decided to take a cruiser run on Another World, I flipped on the camera and made some queasy turns back to the base of Tombstone. Did I ever mention how nice their portable toilets are; heated, fully private and they have real roses by the sink (this is what you get for a $90 plus dollar lift ticket). Wanting to be sick and rid myself of whatever was in me, I was unable.
Getting back on the base of Tombstone, I climbed upwards to the summit, where I quickly strapped in, turned the camera back on to capture run number two. Run number two was the most mellow way down to the gondo via Red Pine Road, this cat track offers nothing-a few little wall hits and some mellow hips-but when you are feeling like you are on death's doorstep it's perfect for a quick exodus.
Here is the vid I shot. Expect nothing but a small log bonk and a Grasser. I am still tweaked carrying a camera in my hand.
Anyways, at home with food poisoning today...
Pow, warm pow, hot pow, cement.
Greybird to Bluebird. Fast and icy as hell. Snow sucks-do not call in sick to go riding, so not worth it.
Sunny and fast.
Greybird, chewed-up ice blocks and suga'pow.
Bluebird, packed-slush and a little rutty up top.
It had just snowed 12 inches the day before; the ultimate Father's Day gift.
Sunny and surfy.
